Anti-Gravity Aerial Yoga

Home > Anti-Gravity Fitness

A unique aerial practice using specialized hammocks to blend elements of yoga, Pilates, and fitness. This class helps decompress the spine, build strength, and explore playful movement.

Aerial Yoga in North York, Toronto

Anti-Gravity Fitness is our aerial yoga class. Using a soft fabric hammock suspended from the ceiling, it blends yoga, Pilates and strength training. The hammock supports part of your body weight, so you can explore stretches, supported inversions and core work while taking load off the spine. Classes run from beginner to advanced, and no aerial experience is needed.

Benefits of Aerial Yoga

  • Core and upper-body strength from supporting yourself in the hammock.
  • Spinal decompression through supported hanging and stretching.
  • Flexibility and mobility with the fabric assisting deeper stretches.
  • Balance and body awareness developed on an unstable support.
  • Playful, low-impact movement that keeps training fun.

Who Can Try Aerial Yoga?

Aerial yoga suits curious beginners as well as experienced yoga and Pilates practitioners looking for a new challenge. Inversions are not suitable for everyone: if you are pregnant, have high blood pressure, glaucoma, a recent injury or another medical condition, consult your physician first and tell your instructor before class.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need experience to take aerial yoga?

No. Beginner classes teach the fundamentals step by step, and instructors offer modifications throughout.

What is the difference between aerial yoga and Anti-Gravity Fitness?

At Studio Fitology, Anti-Gravity Fitness is the name of our aerial class. It includes aerial yoga, combined with Pilates and strength elements in the hammock.

What should I wear to aerial yoga?

Wear fitted workout clothing that covers your underarms and the backs of your knees, and remove jewellery so it cannot catch on the hammock.
